In our study of capacity we have been exploring Gallon Land. Here's the story....
In Gallon Land there are 4 Queens.
Each Queen has a Prince and Princess.
Each Prince and Princess gets 2 Cups of popcorn each night before bed.
***Now I want to hear from you...yes YOU! :)
1. What form of measurement do the QUEENS stand for?
2. What form of measurement do the PRINCES and PRINCESSES stand for?
3. What conclusions can you draw about the number of CUPS in a Gallon?
4. If there are 8 ounces in a cup, how many ounces are in a gallon? 1/2 Gallon?
When responding please write the number of the question you are responding to and insert your name into the "comment as" drop down box.

ReplyDeleteWell, if there are 8 ounces in a cup and there are 16 cups in a gallon then all you need to do is take 16 cups and then count by 8 16 times which would get you to 128 ounces.
If there are 16 cups in one whole gallon then there are 8 cups in half a gallon so all you need to do is do 8*8 which will get you to 64.
